You can make Google Chrome the default browser on an iPhone 11 so web links from supported apps open in Chrome instead of Safari. This setting depends on the installed iOS version, not specifically on the iPhone 11 model.
Set Chrome as the default browser
- Install or update Google Chrome from the App Store.
- Open Settings.
- Find Chrome in the Apps section or app list used by your iOS version.
- Select Default Browser App.
- Choose Chrome.
- Open a normal web link from another app and confirm that it launches in Chrome.
If the option is missing
Update both iOS and Chrome to versions supported by the iPhone. Apple has reorganized app settings over time, so current menus can differ from older screenshots. If the phone is managed by an employer or school, policy can also restrict default-app choices.
Not every link must open in the default browser
Some apps use their own built-in web view, and certain links can open a dedicated app instead of a browser. Test with an ordinary HTTPS link before deciding the default setting failed.
Switch back later
Return to the same default-browser setting and choose Safari or another installed browser. Changing the default does not delete Chrome, Safari, bookmarks, or browser data.
Keep Chrome updated because a browser processes untrusted content from the internet. Be selective with synchronization if the iPhone is shared; signing into Chrome can sync passwords, history, bookmarks, and other selected data with a Google Account.
