How to Enable Group Messaging in iOS 10 (Guide with Pictures)
The steps in this article were performed on an iPhone 7 Plus in iOS 10.3.3. This guide will assume that your account with your cellular provider does not have group messaging disabled or blocked for some reason.
Note that the method for turning on iPhone 7 group messaging is the same in newer versions of iOS as well, including iOS 11, iOS 12, iOS 13, and iOS 14.
Step 1: Open the Settings app.
Step 2 Scroll down and select the Messages option.
Step 3: Scroll to the SMS/MMS section of the menu, then tap the button to the right of Group Messaging to turn it on.
If the Group Messaging option won’t turn on, then try restarting your phone. You can do this by holding down the Power button on the right side of the phone, sliding the Slide to Power Off button to the right side of the screen, then waiting for about 30 seconds. You can then tap press and hold the Power button again until you see a white apple logo.
Once you have enabled group messaging on your iPhone you can start a group message by creating a new message in the Messages app, then adding multiple contacts into the “To” field at the top of the screen.
