When you create a playlist in the Spotify app on your iPhone, you might just be making it for yourself.
But if the playlist is particularly good, or if you have a friend or family member that you think might enjoy it, you might decide that you want it to be public.
Fortunately, you can choose to make your created playlists public or private through the iPhone app.
Our tutorial continues below with more information on how to make Spotify playlist public on iPhone.

If you’ve spent a lot of time refining a playlist, you might want to share it with the rest of the world. Spotify includes playlists in its search results, so if your playlist is available to others, they may follow it and participate in the playlist that you’ve created.
However, not all Spotify playlists are public; a playlist can also be private and only viewable to the individual who made it. If you have a playlist that you are proud of and want others to be able to find it, learn how to make it public from the Spotify iPhone app.

More Information About Making Public iPhone Spotify Playlists
You may also make a playlist public if you are using the Spotify desktop program on a PC or Mac computer. Simply sign in to the app and look for your playlists in the left-hand column. Right-click the playlist you want to make public and pick the Make public option.
Since this post was written, the Spotify app for iPhone and iPad has changed significantly, but the methods are almost identical. In Step 3, there are now a few tabs at the top of the screen, so simply select that tab rather than hitting the button depicted in the image.
The three-dot menu that you access to make your playlist public also provides a variety of other playlist options. It, for example, allows you to construct a collaborative playlist and also allows you to share playlists with your Spotify pals.
Others can access and store public playlists that you build using the mobile app on your iPhone or Android device, as well as your computer. Make sure your playlist name does not contain any personal information that you do not want strangers to see.
When you access the playlist menu, you’ll notice a number of other options for modifying the playlist’s elements. Among these alternatives are:
- Include songs
- Save to this device
- Apple Watch Download
- Make it private/public
- Profile Completion
- Make collaboration a priority.
- Add to the queue
- Listen to the radio
When you wish to make a collaborative playlist public, you may run into certain issues. While new playlists you make will be public by default, a playlist you are working on with other people will be visible exclusively to you.
Can You Control Who Can See Your Spotify Playlists From the Mobile App?
If you’re used to using the Spotify app on your desktop or laptop computer, you might be interested in the Spotify mobile app on your iPhone or Android smartphone.
Many of the features accessible on Spotify’s desktop version are also available on mobile apps, such as whether or not other Spotify users can see your playlist on Spotify.
Any playlist you make on Spotify will have a status associated with it. This implies you can have private playlists as well as public playlists. If you want to keep a playlist private, you will be the only one who can see it. Furthermore, if someone discovers your Spotify profile, they will be unable to view any private playlists you have established on your playlist page.
