The steps in this article are going to change the default font size for new workbooks that you create in Excel 2016. We are only going to focus on setting the default font size, but the same menu that controls that setting also lets you set the default font style, as well as a few other settings.

Step 1: Open Excel 2016.

 

Step 2: Click the File tab at the top-left corner of the window.

Step 3: Click the Options button at the bottom of the column on the left side of the window.

Step 4: Click the dropdown menu to the right of Font size and choose the preferred size. You can then click the OK button at the bottom of the window to apply your changes. If you create a new Excel workbook it will be using the default font size that you just selected.
