How to Change Your Bitmoji Style on iPhone 14

Bitmoji used to offer several avatar styles, including Classic and Deluxe, but today every avatar uses Bitmoji’s current style, which moved to a more detailed 3D look across the app, keyboard and Snapchat. You can’t switch back to the older styles, but you can still change nearly everything about how your avatar looks. This guide shows how to edit your avatar on iPhone 14, change outfits and poses, update it through Snapchat, and set up the Bitmoji keyboard.

Quick Answer

Open the Bitmoji app, tap the happy face (avatar) icon at the bottom, and choose the feature you want to change, such as face, hair or eyes. Tap Save. In Snapchat, tap your profile icon, then your Bitmoji, and choose Edit my avatar or Change Outfit.

What Happened to Avatar Styles?

Older versions of the app let you choose between styles like Bitstrips, Classic and Deluxe. Bitmoji has since standardized on one style and updated all avatars automatically to its newer look, with better hair texture, shading and expressions. If you remember a “Change Avatar Style” option, it may no longer appear in current versions of the app.

Edit Your Avatar in the Bitmoji App

  1. Open the Bitmoji app and make sure it’s updated in the App Store.
  2. Tap the happy face icon at the bottom.
  3. Tap a category, such as Face, Hair, Eyes or Body, and choose an option.
  4. Tap Save.

To start fresh, use the app’s option to create a new avatar from a selfie, if offered, then fine-tune the result.

Change Your Outfit, Pose or Background

  • Outfit: tap the shirt icon to browse outfits, including seasonal and brand collections.
  • Pose and background: in Snapchat, tap your Bitmoji on your profile and choose Change Pose, Change Background or Change Selfie.

Edit Through Snapchat

  1. Open Snapchat and tap your profile icon at the top left.
  2. Tap your Bitmoji.
  3. Choose Edit my avatar or Change Outfit, make changes, and tap Save.

If your Bitmoji is linked to Snapchat, changes appear in both apps.

Use Bitmoji on Your iPhone Keyboard

  1. Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > Add New Keyboard and choose Bitmoji.
  2. Tap Bitmoji in the keyboard list and turn on Allow Full Access, which the keyboard needs to load stickers.
  3. In any app, tap the globe key to switch to Bitmoji and tap a sticker to copy it, then paste.

Troubleshooting

  • Avatar looks different than expected: the style update applied automatically; adjust features to match your look.
  • Changes don’t show in Snapchat: make sure both apps use the same account, and restart them.
  • Keyboard stickers won’t load: check that Allow Full Access is on and you’re connected to the internet.
