How to Add Home Button in iPhone is easier when you use the current feature or support path instead of relying on older shortcuts that may no longer apply.
Use AssistiveTouch as an on-screen Home control
- Open Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch and turn AssistiveTouch on.
- A floating button appears; tap it and choose Home when Home is included in the menu.
- Use Customize Top Level Menu to add Home if it is not visible, or assign Home to Single-Tap, Double-Tap, or Long Press if that is more convenient.
- Drag the floating control to a less intrusive screen edge.
- Test it from an app to confirm it returns you to the Home Screen.
Why this works
AssistiveTouch can provide a software Home action on iPhones with or without a physical Home button. It does not add Touch ID to Face ID models and cannot replace hardware biometric authentication.
If the goal is simply returning Home on a Face ID iPhone, the normal gesture is to swipe up from the bottom edge. AssistiveTouch is useful for accessibility or when gestures/buttons are difficult to use.
AssistiveTouch can also expose Control Center, Notification Center, Siri, screenshots, volume, and custom gestures. Keep the top-level menu simple if Home is the main purpose. If a physical Home button is failing on an older iPhone, AssistiveTouch can reduce reliance on the damaged button while you arrange service.
