The iPhone has long had a hidden level that could be accessed through its default Compass app. It’s a helpful feature that can really come in handy if you find yourself in the situation to use it.
But if it’s been a while since you used the level feature and you’ve kept up to date on your iOS updates, then you are going to find out that the level isn’t located there anymore. Our tutorial below will show you where to find the level in iOS 12 so that you can continue using your iPhone as a means to see if something is level.
How to Access the iPhone Level Through the Measure App
The steps in this article were performed on an iPhone 7 Plus in iOS 12.1.4. If you are using a version of iOS that is lower than iOS 12, then you can still find the level by swiping from right to left on the Compass.
Step 1: Find and open the Measure app. If you don’t see the app icon you can always swipe down from the top of the screen and type “measure” into the search field.
Step 2: Touch the Level tab at the bottom of the screen.
Step 3: Use the Level feature as needed.
Does it seem like your screen is turning off too quickly when you haven’t interacted with it in a little while? Find out how to make the iPhone screen stay on longer so that you can view information without needing to unlock your screen so often because it’s locked.
