The Activity app on your watch and your iPhone tracks a lot of information about your physical activity. Along with the amount of calories that you have burned and the number of minutes that you have spent exercising, it also tracks the number of times that you have stood up over the course of the day.
If your watch hasn’t detected a stand during the current hour, then it will remind you a few minutes before the hour is over that you should stand up and move a bit. But if you don’t need that reminder, or if you find it to be annoying or distracting, then you might wish to turn it off. Our guide below will show you where to go to turn off the stand reminders on your Apple Watch.
How to Disable Stand Reminders
The steps in this article were performed in the Watch app on an iPhone 7 Plus running iOS 10.3.3. The watch being affected in an Apple Watch 2 using the WatchOS 3.2.3 operating system. Note that this does not stop your watch from tracking stands. This specifically turns off the reminder that you get at 50 minutes past an hour if you have yet to register a stand for that hour.
Step 1: Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Select the My Watch tab at the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Step 3: Select the Activity option.
Step 4: Tap the button to the right of Stand Reminders to turn them off. The button should not have any green shading around it when turned off. I have disabled Stand Reminders in the image below.
