The introduction of the Friends mechanic in Pokemon Go gives you the opportunity to trade, send gifts, and even do more damage when battling in raids and gyms. Simply obtain your trainer code from within the app and give it to someone else so that they can send you a friend request, then you are ready to get started with a fun new element of Pokemon Go.

This includes things like your level and current level progress, your buddy, and stats like the number of battles you have fought, the total distance that you’ve walked, and the number of Pokemon that you’ve caught. Our tutorial below will show you where to find this information in your own account so that you can know how far your friends can see you’ve walked in the game.
