Tabbed browsing is a great feature in Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer that allows you to have multiple Web pages open at the same time. You can then easily click between them so that you can reference multiple sources at once.
There is a tabbed browsing feature in Safari on your iPhone, too. However, the tab bar can be turned on or off at will, and only displays at a certain orientation when it is active. Our guide below will show you where to find the setting for the tab bar in the iPhone version of safari so that you can table advantage of it on your mobile device.
How to Make the Tab Bar Visible in iOS 10
The steps in this article were performed on an iPhone 7 Plus in iOS 10.3.2. Note that the tab bar can only be visible in the iPhone version of Safari when the device is in the landscape orientation. You will not see the tab bar if you are holding the device in the portrait orientation, even when this setting is turned on.
Step 1: Touch the Settings icon.
Step 2: Scroll down and select the Safari option.
Step 3: Scroll to the General section, then tap the button to the right of Show Tab Bar.
There are a lot of settings that you can adjust in the Safari browser on your iPhone. For example, you can elect to allow pop-ups if you find that you need to fill in a form on a website, but the built in pop-up blocker is preventing that form from appearing.
