- Open the Reddit app and tap your profile icon.
- Tap Profile, then the Posts tab, and open the post you want to change. You can also find it in the community where you posted it.
- Tap the three-dot overflow menu on the post.
- Tap Edit post.
- Make your changes to the body text.
- Tap Save.
Edit a comment in the app
- Find your comment, either in the thread or under the Comments tab on your profile.
- Tap the three-dot menu on the comment.
- Tap Edit comment, change the text, and tap Save.
Edit a post on the mobile website
- Go to reddit.com in your phone’s browser and log in.
- Open your post.
- Tap the three-dot menu and choose Edit post.

How to fix a post title
Because titles can’t be changed, the only way to fix one is to delete the post and submit it again:
- Copy the post text so you don’t lose it.
- Tap the three-dot menu on the post and choose Delete post.
- Create a new post in the same community with the corrected title and paste your text.
Keep in mind that deleting removes the upvotes and comments on the original. Some communities also have rules against reposting quickly, so check the rules or ask the moderators first.
Formatting while you edit
The edit box uses the same editor you posted with. In the app, the formatting toolbar above the keyboard lets you add bold, italics, links, lists, quotes, and spoilers. A few things that trip people up on mobile:
- Line breaks: Leave a blank line between paragraphs, or they may run together.
- Links: Select the text, tap the link button, and paste the URL so the link is tidy instead of a long raw address.
- Markdown mode: If you see symbols like asterisks instead of formatting, you may be in Markdown mode. Switch to the rich text editor if your app version offers it.
Editing to remove personal information
If you posted something private by mistake, editing it out removes it from Reddit, but copies may already exist in search engine caches, screenshots, or third-party archives. Edit or delete it as quickly as possible. For serious privacy issues, such as your address or phone number, you can also report the content to Reddit and ask moderators of the community for help.

- Add an “Edit:” note at the bottom explaining what changed, especially if people have already replied.
