You can use Google Pay on an iPhone to pay online, but not to tap and pay in stores. When a website or app shows a Google Pay button at checkout, tap it, sign in to your Google Account if asked, pick a saved card, and confirm. For contactless payments at a register, use Apple Pay. Google doesn’t offer tap-to-pay for iPhone, even though Apple now allows third-party contactless payments in some countries.

Step 1: Add a card to your Google Account
- Open Safari or Chrome and go to pay.google.com.
- Sign in with your Google Account.
- Tap Payment methods > Add payment method, and enter your card details.
Cards you’ve saved in Chrome or used to buy apps on Google Play may already be listed.
Step 2: Pay with Google Pay at checkout
- On a shopping website or app, go to checkout.
- Tap Buy with Google Pay or Google Pay.
- Sign in if asked, choose a card and shipping address, and tap Continue or Pay.
If you don’t see a Google Pay button, the store doesn’t offer it. Enter your card manually, or use Chrome’s saved cards to autofill.
How to pay in stores with an iPhone
- Open the Wallet app and tap + to add your debit or credit card.
- At checkout, double-click the side button (or the Home button on older models), authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode, and hold the iPhone near the card reader.
