How to Find Saved Places on Google Maps: A Step-by-Step Guide

To find saved places on Google Maps on your phone, open the app and tap You at the bottom (this tab was called Saved in older versions). Your lists appear there, including Favorites, Want to go, Starred places, Labeled places like Home and Work, and any custom lists; tap a list to see its places, or tap the map icon to show them all on the map. On a computer, go to maps.google.com, click the menu (three lines), and choose Saved.

This guide covers finding, viewing, and organizing saved places on Android, iPhone, and computers, plus how to see places you’ve visited, share lists, and find places that seem to be missing.

  • Wrong account – switch accounts from your profile picture.
  • Offline or outdated app – update Google Maps and check your connection.
  • Place closed or removed – businesses that permanently closed may disappear or show as closed.
  • Old starred places – look in Starred places, which holds saves from older versions of Maps.
  • Export your data – use Google Takeout and select Saved or Maps (your places) to download all saved places as a backup.
