Roblox on Windows normally updates itself: when you launch it, the app downloads any new version before it opens. If you use the Microsoft Store version, updates come through the Store. When an update fails or loops, reinstalling fixes it in most cases.
Roblox has replaced its old Microsoft Store app. The current one is called Roblox – Windows and has a blue icon; the older gray-icon app will eventually stop working, so switch if you still have it.
Update Roblox (Website Version)
- Close Roblox completely, including any Roblox icon near the clock.
- Open Roblox from the Start menu or desktop shortcut, or click Play on any experience at roblox.com.
- Wait while Roblox checks for and installs the update.
- The app opens on the latest version.
Update Roblox (Microsoft Store Version)
- Open the Microsoft Store.
- Click Library in the bottom-left corner.
- Click Get updates.
- If Roblox appears in the list, let it update, or click Update next to it.

Troubleshooting
- Stuck on Getting Latest Roblox or a loop: uninstall Roblox in Settings, Apps, Installed apps, restart, and reinstall from roblox.com/download.
- Update blocked: allow Roblox through your firewall or antivirus.
- Error after updating: restart the PC and update Windows and graphics drivers.
