How you delete an address from Google Maps depends on where it’s saved. To remove a home or work address, open Google Maps, tap You (or Saved) > Labeled, tap the three dots next to Home or Work, and choose Remove home or Remove work. To delete an address from your search history, tap the search bar, touch and hold the address (or tap the three dots next to it), and choose Delete. For a place saved to a list, open the list, tap the three dots next to the place and remove it.

Remove your home or work address
Android and iPhone
- Open Google Maps and tap You (or Saved) at the bottom.
- Tap Labeled.
- Tap the three dots next to Home or Work.
- Tap Remove home or Remove work. To change it instead, tap Edit home or Edit work.
Computer
- Go to google.com/maps and click the Menu (three lines) > Saved.
- Click Labeled.
- Click the X next to Home or Work.
Delete an address from search history
- Tap the search bar in Google Maps to see recent searches.
- Touch and hold the address, or tap the three dots next to it.
- Tap Delete or Remove from history.
On a computer, click the search box and click Remove next to a recent search.
Remove a custom labeled address
Addresses you’ve labeled, such as “Mom’s house,” also appear under Labeled. Tap the three dots next to the label and choose Delete label.
Remove an address from a saved list
- Tap You or Saved, then open the list, such as Favorites or Want to go.
- Tap the three dots next to the place.
- Tap Remove.
Clear all Google Maps history
- Tap your profile picture in Google Maps.
- Tap Settings > Maps history.
- Tap Delete and choose a time range, such as All time.
This removes past searches and directions from your Google account’s Web & App Activity for Maps. Saved places and labels aren’t affected.
Remove addresses from your Timeline
If Timeline (Location History) is on, Google Maps may record places you visited, including addresses. On newer phones, Timeline is stored on your device.
- Tap your profile picture in Google Maps and choose Your Timeline.
- Find the day or visit with the address.
- Tap the visit, then the three dots, and choose Remove or Delete day.
To stop recording visits, open Timeline settings and turn off Timeline, or set auto-delete for older activity.
Addresses suggested by Chrome or your phone’s keyboard
Sometimes an address keeps appearing when you type, but it’s not coming from Google Maps. Chrome’s autofill saves addresses for forms; remove them in Chrome under Settings > Autofill and passwords > Addresses and more. On iPhone, Safari autofill uses your contact card, which you can edit in the Contacts app.
Change an address instead of deleting it
If you moved, edit your Home address rather than removing it, so directions and commute estimates keep working. Tap Labeled > the three dots next to Home > Edit home, and enter the new address.
