How to Switch to Manual Calculation in Excel 2013

The formulas that you create in your Microsoft Excel 2013 worksheets can be as complex or simple as you need them to be. By default Excel 2013 will automatically update if you change the value in a cell that is part of a formula. Turn Off Automatic Calculation in Excel 2013

  1. Open your worksheet in Microsoft Excel 2013.

Now when you make a change to a value that is included in a formula, the formulas will not update automatically to reflect this change. Instead, you will need to click the Calculate Now button in the Calculation section on the Formulas ribbon. Alternately you can press the F9 key on your keyboard to calculate your formulas.
